Asset Condition Assessment Engen Lease Site
Tekoa Consulting Engineers appointed Global Integrity Solutions Consulting (Pty) Ltd to deliver a Pre-Feasibility Study (FEL 2) to conduct a condition assessment of the existing infrastructure at the Engen Pty Ltd Lease Site on behalf of the TNPA, Port of Richards Bay. Tanks, pipelines Remaining Useful Life (RUL) needed to be determined and recommendations made to the asset owner for Short- and Long-Term planning.

Island View Precinct Asset Condition Assessment
Global Integrity Solutions Consulting (Pty) Ltd were appointed by the Tekoa Consulting Engineers on behalf of Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA) to conduct a comprehensive Asset Condition Assessment on 17 sites within the Island View Precinct. The purpose of the exercise was to determine the present condition of the asset, determine its Remaining Useful Life (RUL) and advice the Asset Owner on decisions around the short- and long-term planning for each of the sites in relation to the Port Development Framework Plan. With infrastructure on the sites ranging from petrochemical tanks, pump stations, process pipework, boilers, compressors and related heavy-duty industrial equipment, the multi-disciplinary team applied sector specific standards to successfully complete the following outcomes:
- Technical condition assessment
- Life-time extension evaluation
- Technical qualification for extension
- Preparation for obsolescent equipment
- Estimation of costs for the lifetime extension
- State of Regulatory compliance

Indian Ocean Terminal Storage Tank
Integrity inspection & Design calculations and engineering drawings contains the evaluation of the suitability for continued services and assessment of the maximum filling height or maximum capacity for the concerned tank in accordance with API650 and API 12C/653 which is located along the coast of Durban, Indian Ocean Terminal. The rules given in this standard are minimum requirements and are not to be interpreted as approving, recommending, or endorsing any specific design or limiting the methods of inspection, repair, alteration, or reconstruction. Where seem necessary, personnel with proven experience in tank design may consider the use of other codes since API650 is not considered all-inclusive. In such case, this report will refer to the applied standard and describe the reason of deviation to the API650, API 12C/ 653.
